At Taste of SA, everything starts with family.
My name is Kevin, I’m 21 years old and the founder of Taste of SA. I was born and raised in the Netherlands, but my roots will always be in South Africa. My parents moved here in 1999 from a beautiful place called Hartbeespoort, bringing with them not just their belongings, but a rich culture, unforgettable flavours, and a deep love for South African life.


Growing up, our home was always filled with the smell of traditional dishes, the sound of laughter, and stories about “back home.” South Africa was never just a place on the map for me it was something I could feel, taste, and experience every day.


Every year, we return to South Africa to visit our family. Those trips mean everything to me. They reconnect me with my roots, remind me where we come from, and deepen my love for the culture, the people, and especially the food. I can honestly say I’m completely obsessed with it from a proper braai to the smallest snacks you just can’t find anywhere else.


Taste of SA was created to share that feeling with you.


This isn’t just a webshop it’s a piece of home. Together with my family, who help make all of this possible, I want to bring the authentic taste of South Africa to people who miss it, love it, or are discovering it for the first time.
